Soul & Surf is a surf boutique in Varkala, India that promises guests beautiful, tourist free beaches, points and jetties to surf. As part of their local social responsibility pledge, we worked with Soul & Surf to establish a surfing program to engage local youth from the surrounding fishing villages in self-expression and ocean literacy. We cleaned the beach and then jumped in the water to surf the crystal clear waves rolling into shore. Local youth and hotel guests shared in a cross-cultural interaction that was grounded in play and fun.
