Día de los Pescadores celebrates fishermen across the coastlines. The day has a long tradition in Lobitos and the festivities last over several days. What better way that bring together the local fishing community and the surfers who frequent Lobitos for it's epic waves, than with a surf contest championing ocean health. We worked with local surfer and photographer, Henry Espinoza Panta, and the local nonprofit, WAVES, to bring the idea to life. The surf contest was a playful opportunity for tourists to experience the local culture.
