Costa Rica is famous among surfers for it's incredible waves and amiable people. We teamed up with our friends at Bodhi Surf + Yoga and Global Leadership Adventures to facilitate a surfing program that brought together teenagers from the United States and younger children from Costa Rica to catch waves together and practice marine stewardship by cleaning plastic waste from the beach as ocean guardians. The word “bodhi” is Sanskrit for “awareness”, and that is exactly what Bodhi Surf + Yoga as a surf school and yoga retreat center hopes guests gain: a deeper insight into the lifestyles of surfing and yoga, a mind-body-earth connection, and knowledge about their little community in Costa Rica.
